Doug’s credits include Opening and Closing Ceremonies for Summer and Winter Olympics, Super Bowl Halftime Shows, Miss America Pageants, and a variety of other stadium, arena and large-venue events.
In The Back Side Of Wonderful, Doug tells the story of how he rose to the top of his chosen profession, Event Theater, even as he participated in the creation of that profession itself.

By his own estimate he has worked with more than a quarter of a million volunteer performers, creating such unforgettable moments as the giant skier for the Torino Winter Olympics, the ice skating pageant for the Salt lake City Games, and others.
In addition to volunteers, Doug has worked closely with celebrities and stars including Diana Ross, Bonnie Raitt, and Gloria Estefan. Capturing the qualities that make them stars, Doug also celebrates the celebrities’ humanity, recounting stories of the “down to earth” nature, their kindness and openness.
