  • Doug Jack bio -

I have always painted with people, “with people?” (yes, as pixels in a larger photo). I choreograph stadium events for a living with 6 Olympics Games Opening Ceremonies and countless other worldwide events to my credit. However, it was not until 2009 that I realized the simple fact that painting is painting it doesn’t matter if it is on a 3-foot long canvas or 3 hundred foot long field of grass.

Being completely honest I was unsure of my ability to be successful at first, but once the first color was let loose from its paper wrapper and the wax hit the flame of my torch (that is right my paint brush is FIRE!) the color became a perfect expression of it’s freedom, a Bold and Beautiful statement. Individual colors now become their own unique performer making a visual statement that is more personal than any Ceremonies I have had the honor of creating.

This new expression engages my belief to be fearless in my approach in the way I use color in life, giving me the courage to take my very public Choreographic expression to a whole new personal arena. It is a deeply private dance as you choreograph with countless colors combinations instead of thousands of people.

All Colors --like dance steps-- go together. Art is another wonderfully stunning form of non-verbal communication. The music is inside all of us and the dance is a duet, You and the Possibilities.
